Ann Guthmiller was born August 20, 1920 in Pettibone, ND, the daughter of Ludwig and Caroline Guthmiller. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Pettibone. Ann worked in housekeeping at Jamestown Hospital. On December 14, 1947 she married Ewald Schempp in Jamestown. They farmed 10 miles west of Montpelier in the Millarton/Sydney area. They moved to Jamestown in 2001. Ann was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Jamestown. She loved music and enjoyed playing piano and guitar. She also enjoyed making quilts, sewing, cooking, especially German food, which was her specialty. Ann is survived by two sons, Dennis (fiance, Renee) Schempp, Jamestown and Jeff (Barbara) Schempp, Montpelier, ND; two daughters, Sandra (Charles) Dathe and DeLayne Potts, both of LaMoure, ND; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Albert Guthmiller, Jamestown. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and three brothers.
