CHARLES G. BULFER
Charles G. Bulfer, 83, of Peru died at 2:57 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Josephs Church, Peru. Rev. Harold Datzman, OSB will officiate. Burial will be at St. Josephs Cemetery, Spring Valley with military rites by the Peru Veterans Memorial Group. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Mr. Bulfer was born May 23, 1924 in LaSalle to Charles and Josephine (Kemper) Bulfer. He married Lucy Bartolucci on November 26, 1966 at St. Thomas More Church in Dalzell. He was a graduate of St. Bede Academy and St. Benedict College in Athison, Kansas. He served in the Army during World War II. He worked at Westclox and then at Libby Owens Ford, Ottawa, where he retired.
He was a member of St. Josephs Church, Peru; and a life member of the Peru American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Lucy of Peru; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Rev. Gilbert Bulfer, OSB, Dr. Andrew Bulfer and August Bulfer; and 2 sisters, Rose Wessel, and Carlene Berettini.
