On April 25th 1921 Esther Schumacher was born in Eureka South Dakota. She along with her two brothers and two sisters lived and worked on the family farm.
In November of 1941 Esther married her love Reinhold Bertsch. Together they welcomed two children Donna and Duane. June 17th, 1960 the Bertsch family moved to Fort Collins, CO and Esther began work at Hewlett Packard in Loveland for 22 years before retiring.
She was the proud grandmother of four; Monica Cooper, Catrenna Lopez, Amanda Adams and Kyle Bertsch. She was also blessed with four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild as of recent. Esther is also survived by one older brother, a younger brother, and two sisters.
Esther moved to Rio Rancho New Mexico in October of 1992 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She frequently traveled back to Northern Colorado to visit. In the recent years, she divided her time equally between her Colorado home and New Mexico home.
Esther loved gardening flowers, fruits and vegetables, her favorite being roses. She cherished time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her "Crafty Ladies" group in Rio Rancho New Mexico. Some of her favorite feathered friends included Cardinals, Humming Birds and Butterflies. She loved vibrant colors such as red, purple and green. Cooking, baking, reading and card games were also some of her favorite pastimes.
On January 14th, Esther Bertsch went home to be with her Lord and Savior and was reunited with her husband, siblings, great-grandson and many precious friends. Loved ones grieve their loss but celebrate Heaven's gain.
A graveside service will be held, Friday, 3 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, 10 a.m. at Windsor Evangelical Free Church, 700 Pine Dr., Windsor, Colorado.
