JOLIET ? Jon L. Harshbarger, 71, of Joliet, passed away Saturday, May 8, at home with his family by his side. He was born Nov. 3, 1938, in Streator, to the late Icell and Gladys (nee Willavize) Harshbarger. He married Janice M. (Borghetti) Harshbarger, and on Sept. 12, 2009, they celebrated their 50th anniversary. Jon worked as a boilermaker for over 30 years for Local No. 1, Chicago, retiring in 1999. He also worked for Chicago Bridge and Iron. An avid movie fan, he especially enjoyed traveling the high seas on the 17 cruises he and Janice completed together. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janice; his devoted children, Richard Harshbarger and Susan (Christian) Gossman, both of Joliet, and Julie (Steven) Puntney of Naperville; six adoring grandchildren; and one special great-grandson. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home in Joliet. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Streator.
