Birth: Apr. 20, 1923 Spring Valley Pierce County Wisconsin, USA Death: Mar. 4, 2014 Woodville St. Croix County Wisconsin, USA Alpha DeLong, age 90 of Woodville, Wisconsin died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Park View Home in Woodville. Funeral service for Alpha will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Woodville with visitation from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at church prior to the service. Burial will be in Lone Pine Cemetery, Woodville. Alpha DeLong, age 90, died on March 4, 2014 at Park View Nursing Home, Woodville, Wisconsin with family by her side. Alpha was born on Aril 21, 1923 to Anna and Henry Faul in Spring Valley, Wisconsin On January 15, 1940 she married Sam DeLong. To this union three children were born. Alpha lived her entire life in the Woodville area. She worked at many jobs during her life, retiring from the St. Paul District Dental Association in 1980. Alpha was a loving mother and grandmother, sister and friend. She loved company and had lots of it. She was always ready with a meal, lunch or just coffee and fresh baked goodies. She was fun, caring, giving, and always busy. She loved to sew, crochet and did all kinds of crafts. She loved to play cards, shop and travel, and squeezed everything she could into every day. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Henry; and her husband Sam. She is survived by her three children: Margaret Ann (David Pete) Bossman of Woodville; Steve (Maxine) DeLong of Baldwin; and Vickie (Tom) Edin of Hudson. Seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; sister Colleen Timm of Rice Lake; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral service for Alpha was on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Woodville. Burial was in Lone Pine Cemetery, Woodville, Wisconsin. Pallbearers were grandsons Nathan Edin, Jeff DeLong, and Todd Crum, and great grandsons David Sloan, Thomas Sloan, and Joseph Jelen.
