CLAFLIN ? Edgar ?Edgie? Disque, 76, died Dec. 19 at Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. Born Dec. 9, 1930, in Claflin, he was the son of Adam A. Disque and Margaret Caroline ?Radenberg? Disque. A resident of Claflin, moving to Colorado in 1970, and back to Claflin in 1994, he was a retired machinist with Hewlitt Packard and prior to that was a farmer.
Mr. Disque was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and the recipient of two Purple Hearts. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge #424 and Ralph B. Praeger VFW Post #8668, all of Claflin.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Disque and wife Dianna of Claflin, and Richard Disque of Colorado Springs, Colo.; former wife Ruth Costanza of Colorado Springs; five brothers, Charles Disque and Walter Disque, both of Claflin, Marlin Disque of Hoisington, Herman Disque of Lyons and Harvey Disque of Salina; two sisters, Mable Flickinger of Hutchinson and Aline Howser of Chandler, Okla.; two grandchildren, Jacob and Wyatt Disque; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Martin Disque, and four sisters, Leona Welch, Velma Disque, Grace Disque and Edna Disque.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Claflin with the Rev. Sarah Hickson de Salazar officiating. Burial will be at the Claflin Cemetery with military graveside rites by Ralph B. Praeger VFW Post #8668 in Claflin, VFW Post #7428 and American Legion Post #286, Hoisington. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or Ralph B. Praeger VFW Post #8668, Claflin, in care of the funeral home.
