LUSCOMBE Emma Lou Mrs. Emma Lou Luscombe passed away at Wolf Creek Lutheran Village August 26, 2009. She was born to Ethel and Claude Hauck, October 14, 1914, in Toledo. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Ruth Repass, Mary Martin and brother, George Hauck. Emma graduated from Scott High School in 1932 and from the University of Toledo in 1936 with a degree in philosophy where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was active in the Harvard School PTA during her children's school years, and a member of the Y Matrons, the Compass Club, the Scott High School Alumni Association, the UT Alumni Association and The Red Hat Society. She married John Leith "Jack" Luscombe in 1937 and he passed away in 1981 after 44 years of marriage. Em, as she liked to be called, was a homemaker all her life. She loved to travel which she and Jack did extensively; they took many cruises and trips abroad, and Naples, FL was in their agenda for the winter months. Dining out was a favorite and finding new restaurants and haunts was a hobby. Em was an avid card player and had a passion for bridge and was playing bridge until a few weeks before her death. She loved beautiful clothes and always looked ready for entertaining. Surviving are her daughter, Ann Stine (Bill Wirick), Perrysburg, John H. Luscombe (Carol), Maumee; grandchildren, Bill Stine, Arizona, Jennifer Ison, (Jim) Rochester Hills, MI, John K. Luscombe (Lori), Perrysburg, Jill Steele (Chad), Westerville, OH, and eight great-grandchildren Special thanks go to primary caregiver and friend, Cathy Baker, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, caregivers, Theresa, Brenda, Deb, Alice and Em's close friend, Bill White. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Friday from 2 thru 8 p.m. Private interment will take place at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. A luncheon will be provided for family and friends at Creekside Lutheran Home, 2045 Perrysburg Holland Road, on Saturday, August 29 at 12 noon. Donations in Em's memory may be sent to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the University of Toledo Foundation.
