Irene Desque Heberling 1923 - 2008 Overbrook Memorial services for Irene Desque Heberling, 85, Overbrook, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Overbrook.Mrs. Heberling died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at Brookside Manor in Overbrook. She was born Jan. 2, 1923, in Douglas County, the daughter of Charles and Eleanor Schamle Desque. She graduated from Overbrook High School and Dodd's School of Business.Mrs. Heberling worked for the Kansas state board of health and Kansas highway department. She was a homemaker, 4-H leader and Cub Scout den mother. She was a charter member of the Busy Bee Hobby Club and a member of American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking. She married Carl S. Heberling on March 2, 1946. He survives, of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Ron Heberling and wife Mary, and Don Heberling and wife Jan, all of Overbrook; two grandchildren, Jesse Heberling and Kelli Phippen; four great-grandchildren, Makenzi and Cody Phippen, Lexsey Heberling and Shawn Call; a sister, Dorothy Goff Karnes, Overbrook; and a niece, Nancy Goff Pudwill.She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Gary Goff.The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church before the services.The family suggests memorials to the Overbrook Fire Department EMTs, sent in care of the Greenwood-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
