Juanita Reeb-Zelenka Juanita Alvina Reeb-ZelenkaJuanita, a resident of West Hollywood, California, passed away on Easter Sunday April 8, 2007 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at the age of 86. Juanita was born in Belleville, IL, the eldest of five children. A Mass of the Resurrection for Juanita was conducted at Saint Ambrose Church, Los Angeles, California, May 19, 2007, with interment at The Cathedral of Our Lady of The Angels.She was predeceased in 1969 by her husband, Raymond E. Zelenka, a retired Air Force Colonel and later a Vice President of Litton Industries. She was also predeceased by her father Arthur J. Reeb, her mother Cora H. Reeb nee Harpstreit and her brother, Arthur C. "Bud" Reeb.Juanita is survived by her three children, Dr. Raymond "Skip" Zelenka, Dr. Craig Zelenka, Mrs. Deborah Kay and three sisters; Patricia (Carl) Phillips; Marlene Reeb; and Mercedes (Earl) Hawkins. She is survived by five nieces and nephews; Loanna Reeb, Guy Phillips, Gayle (Garry Sauner) Phillips, Stephen (Alicia) Hawkins and Stacey (Carl Walker) Hawkins and two great-nieces, Reilly Hawkins and Ashley Walker. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.A humanitarian with numerous charitable interests, Juanita was also an active member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church where she had many friends. Juanita enjoyed theater and the arts and delighted in world travel. Pragmatic, positive, upbeat and thoughtful, Juanita relished life and people to the fullest and rarely met a person with whom she could not find common ground.She will long be remembered by family and others who were close to her for her unstinting friendship and unconditional love.
