 James R. Merry, 69, of Caldwell Route 4 died of emphysema
 at 11:35 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 16) in Good Samaritan hospital where he
 had been a patient since Tuesday.
 Born Dec 11, 1898, in Noble County, he was a son of John
 and Cynthia Yonley Merry. A retired well tender, he worked for Ohio
 Fuel Gas Co., 37 years.
 Surviving are his widow, Mildred Nau Merry; five sons, James,
 Jesse and William, all of Gallipolis, Richard of Beach City and Dale of
 Navarre; five daughters, Mrs. Omar (Dorothy) Schott of Beach City,
 Mrs. Myron (Cynthia) Law of Senecaville, Mrs. Carlos (Barbara) Tucker
 of Sarahsville Route 1, Mrs. Ronald (Marilyn) Arnold of Caldwell Route
 5, and Mrs. Carl (Ruth) Handschumacher of Caldwell; a brother, Ambrose
 of Norwich; 41 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and
 nephews.
 The body was taken to Estadt Funeral Home in Caldwell where
 friends may call. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today.
 Requiem high mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Im-
 maculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda. Burial will be in the church
 cemetery.
