OBITUARY Mrs. Elvin Brand LAFAYETTE - Mrs. Elvin Brand, the former Genevieve Manouvrier, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at her residence. She was 93 years of age. Preceding her in death were her husband, Elvin Brand; her parents, A.J. and Inez Morales Manouvrier, Sr.; two brothers, A.J. Manouvrier, Jr., and Paul J. Manouvrier, all of Opelousas; her sister, Mary M. Parker, of New Orleans; and two nephews, J. Michael Mouton and Welton P. Mouton, Jr., both of Lafayette. Surviving are a nephew, Paul J. Manouvrier, of New Orleans; a great nephew, Jeffery M. Mouton and wife, Wendy; a great niece Rebecca M. Coody and husband, Greg; and a great-great niece, Elise C. Mouton, all of Lafayette. Mrs. Brand wished to thank the Tim Maragos family for their long sustaining friendship, the staff of Corner Stone Village South, and Hospice of Acadiana. There will be no funeral service as her body has been donated for the purpose of medical research. Dialy Advertiser,October 28, 2008.
