  Hi Kathy: Dad did graduate from Annapolis in 1923; Married Katherine Alice Parkhurst of Rochester/Syracuse the same day. Received his commission and sailed as gunnery officer on the old USS Pennsylvania. Within two years, chronic seasickness led him to beseech Congress for a transfer to the U.S.Army which was effected in 1925 (a precedent setting act). He lost his two year seniority as an ensign. As the lowest shavetail in the Coast Artillery, he started over at Ft. Wright in L.I. Sound, then was sent to HNL where, in 1931, he and Kay were blessed with me.
