Ressler, 83, Bismarck, died Feb. 21, 2000 in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be held at noon Wednesday, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Revs. Albert Leary, John Kuhn and William Fahlander officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Frank Ressler, the son of Martin and Katherine (Wetsch) Ressler, was born April 6, 1916 in St. Anthony. He was raised and educated in the St. Anthonyarea. On Feb. 14, 1944, he married Lucille Pitzer in St. Anthony. Frank worked as a mechanic for Zachmeier Garage and Thomas Motors in Mandan. They also farmed for eight years south of Mandan. Frank began working for Haggort Construction in Fargo from 1959 until 1962 and in 1964, he began working for Morton County until his retirement in 1970. He was an avid collector of over 500 caps, some of which were displayed on the ceiling of his room at the Baptist Nursing Home. He especially enjoyed being around people and was very close to staff and other residents at the nursing home. He took pride in giving people their first tour of the facility when they first arrived. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar and looked forward to visits from his family and friends. Frank took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frank is survived by his wife, Lucille, Mandan; his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Bev, Mandan; his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Joel Morman, Mandan; four grandchildren, Lisa Brekhus, Lori Wiese, Jason Morman and Melissa Morman; three great-grandchildren, Shantel and Shelby Brekhus and Tristan Wiese; one brother, Ted, Mandan; and one stepbrother, Val Jahner, Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Franklin; and six brothers, Nick, Val, Christ, George, Joe, Anton and Jack; and one sister, Katie Leingang.
