Gilbert John Weber
Funeral services for Gilbert John Weber, age 93, were held Saturday,
April 13 at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville. He died at the
Stacyville Community Nursing Home on April 11, 2002. The Reverend Joseph
Schneider officiated. Burial was in Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville.
Gilbert was born on July 24, 1908 the son of Joseph and Ann (Gilbenbach)
Weber at Stacyville. He attended Visitation School. November 15, 1930 he
was united in marriage to Martha Brumm at Rochester, MN. He farmed his
entire life in the Stacyville area retiring and moving to Stacyville in
1973. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and had been a
resident of the Stacyville Community Nursing Home since November of 1996.
Preceding him in death were his wife, parents, and brothers Aloysius and
Kenneth.
Survivors include two sons, Melvin Weber, Palmetto, FL, and Leslie and wife
Beverly, Stacyville; one daughter, Janet Mayer and husband Glen, Stacyville;
nine grandchilden; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister Theresa Blake,
Stacyville; three brothers, Edmund Weber and wife Virginia, Stacyville,
Sylvester Weber, Marshalltown and Leo Weber and wife Marjorie, Charles City.
