Richard Leaf, 78, of Olney, died at 9:43 p.m. Thursday, September, 11, 1997, at Richland Memorial Hospital.
The body was cremated. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Immanuel United Metho1ist Church, with Rev. Charles McDonald officiating. Private family interment will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or Multiple Sclerosis.
Leaf was born Dec. 20, 1918, in Richland County, the son of Raymond and Cora Margaret (Taylor) Leaf. He married Lorene Craig Dec. 31, 1944.
He was a U.S Army veteran and a retired policeman for the city of Olney. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Olney and a lifetime member of Olney Elks, VFW, American Legion and Richland County Country Club.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Craig Leaf and his wife, Betty, of Olney, and Richard Leaf and his wife, Chris, of Newburg, Ind.; three brothers, Charles Leaf, of Woodard Okla., and George Leaf and John Leaf both of Olney, three sisters, Betty Heath, of Sumner, Mary Fregeau, of Chicago, and Barbara Stovall, of Olney; one aunt, Helen Taylor, of Olney and two grandchildren, Lindsey and Katie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
