She was born on January 19, 1948 in Spencer County to Anthony and Hilda (Seger) Tretter. She married Larry Streicher on April 26, 1969 in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. She worked at Patoka Insurance Center in Jasper for many years. Leona was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church- Blessed Virgin Sodality and very active in her church and the Jasper Optimist Club. Her hobbies were time with her grandchildren and gardening in her flower garden and playing golf. Surviving, Husband, Larry Streicher 2 daughters; Jennifer Streicher, Louisville, KY Amy Mills, Noblesville, IN 1 son, Greg Streicher and spouse Julie, Indianapolis, IN 2 grandchildren, Kayla and Ashlyn 2 sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Agnes) Lyons, Siberia, IN Mrs. Richard (Jean) Brown, Williamsport, IN 3 brothers, Leo Tretter and Ralph Tretter, both of Ferdinand, IN Alvin Tretter, Newburgh, IN Preceding her in death besides her parents are 1 infant sister, Emma Tretter and 1 brother, Edwin C. Tretter. Funeral services for Leona Streicher will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday (March 23, 2009) in Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 11-8 p.m. Sunday (March 22, 2009) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Sunday by the Blessed Virgin Sodality at the funeral home.
