  [S927] Obituary. Note: From the Herald, 1 Jun 2010: "Robert L. Berg, 76, Jasper, died at 6:53 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010, at his home. He was born in Jasper on Sept. 21, 1933, to Robert J. and Anna (Birk) Berg. He married LaVerne Hochgesang Aug. 9, 1958, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. Surviving are his wife, LaVerne Berg; three sons, Steve Berg of Holland, Alan Berg, Huntingburg, and Chris Berg, Jasper; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles Berg. Mr. Berg was a farmer and a district manager for NaChurs Plant Food Co., Marion, Ohio, for 30 years. He was instrumental in the development of the Westview and Algonquin Valley residential areas in Jasper. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, a life member of Jasper Knights of Columbus and a life member of The National Farmers Organization for 50 years. His hobby was golf. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Precious Blood Catholic Church, Jasper. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper."
