Thomas Horton, 70, of Greenfield died Jan. 20, 2000 at Hancock Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 21, 1929, in Lynn, Mass., he was the son of Harry T. Sr. and Gladys (Horton) Horton.He was employed as a grinder operator for Delco Remy in Anderson, retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Greenfield and UAW local #662. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.Survivors include his wife, Martha L. (Kempf) Horton, whom he married April 18, 1953; sons William M. Horton of Shelbyville, James R. Horton of Indianapolis and Richard T. Horton of Greenfield; daughters Linda S. Wiener of Tappan, N.Y., Jane E. Layne of Huntsville, Ala., and Lisa M. McConnell of Rushville; brother Albert E. Horton of Greenfield; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Virginia Benjamin.Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Greenfield with Fr. Severin Messick, O.S.B. officiating. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery.
