Pinke Leona Loebs was born May 24, 1922, in Leola, SD, to Gotlieb and Katie (Heupel) Loebs. She grew up and attended rural school near Leola, SD. Leona married Elmer Pinke on July 16, 1939, in Leola, SD. They farmed near Marion, ND, for several years before moving to Marion in 1957 when Elmer became an insurance adjuster. Elmer died in October, 1984. She moved to Valley City in 1985. Leona was an active member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed her flowers and loved her family dearly. She is survived by two sons, Eldon (Carol) Pinke, Wishek, ND, Delmer (Carol) Pinke, Fargo, and one daughter, Ardella (Bruce) Rau, Medina, ND. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Lori Pinke, Ryan (Jolie) Pinke, Nathan (Kathryn) Pinke, Kelly (Matthew) Hockett, Katie Rau (Matthew Gefroh), Matthew Rau and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and five brothers and sisters. Visitation: Thursday, December 27, 2007, from 3 PM to 7 PM at Lerud, Johnson, Schuldt Funeral Home, Valley City, ND and one hour before services at the church on Friday.
