Hendershot, 74, of Nashville died at 1:16 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2006, at his home. Mr. Hendershot had been a truck driver for Heritage Transport, a stone mason and a logger and owned a portable sawmill along with a team of mules. He lived in the home he built 54 years ago. He attended Gnaw Bone Wesleyan Church and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, sitting on his porch and spending time with his grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike, with the Rev. Guy Armstrong officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from noon until service time Monday. Burial will be at Burkhart Cemetery in Brown County. Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana. He married Donna L. Rider Aug. 25, 1951, at Knightstown. Survivors include his wife; sons, Ron (Diana) Hendershot of Ogilville and Todd (Susie) Hendershot of Bedford; daughters, Tamara Sue (Danny) Cooper of Indianapolis, Linda Lou (Lowell) Noel of Martinsville and Patricia K. Hendershot of Nashville; a brother, Rev. Albert (Gail) Hendershot of Bloomington; sisters, Beulah (Bill) Dowden of Columbus and Nadine (Ivan) West of Nashville; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Virgil, Ival, Roy Basil, Robert and Ferrell Hendershot; and sisters, Wilma Dobbs, Evelyn Michaels and Beryl Roberts.
