Rolinda Streyle died Thursday (April 1, 2010) at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Reformed Church, Menno. Streyle Story Print Create a hardcopy of this page Font Size: Default font size Larger font size Posted: Tuesday, April 6, 2010 12:00 am died 04/01/2010 Rolinda Streyle, Menno, S.D., passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. Rolinda was born to Edward and Magdalena (Dubs) Walz on March 5, 1920. She attended grade school and graduated from Freeman High School in 1938. She married Rueben Mettler in June of 1940 and they farmed by Freeman and Tripp, S.D. The two of them built a home in Menno, S.D., and lived there until Rueben's death in 1978. Rolinda worked at the Menno Retirement Home for several years. She married Calvin Streyle on June 24, 1982, and enjoyed 19 years together. Rolinda acquired a family she loved very much, as they did in turn. Rolinda was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Magdalena Walz; a baby daughter, Rosemary; husbands Rueben Mettler and Calvin Streyle; siblings that preceded her in death: Adelheit, Alma, Oscar, Elsie, Roland, John, Myrtha, Winfred and Arnold. Living relatives include: one brother, Ray Walz of Ohio; as well as several nieces and nephews; step-son, Norman (Carol) Streyle, Sioux Falls; stepdaughter, Joyce (Jim) Kauffman, Casper, Wyo.; stepgrandsons: Vance (Angie) Streyle, Corey (Jenni) Streyle and Chad Streyle, all of Sioux Falls; stepgranddaughters: Osa Kauffman, California, and Aumi (John) Perry of Casper; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren. The funeral was held at Zion Reformed Church in Menno Monday, April 5 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Scott Henry officiating. Burial was in the Menno Cemetery. The family requests memorials to be directed to the donor's choice in lieu of flowers. The family shared many happy memories that they experienced as a result of her life and testimony at her recent 90th birthday party.
