Birth: Jul. 19, 1883 Washington County Ohio, USA Death: May 5, 1978 Lake Charles Calcasieu Parish Louisiana, USA The Salina Journal Salina, KS Monday, May 8, 1978 Page 11, Column 5 Deaths and Funerals Mrs. William Groth Ellsworth-- The funeral for Mrs. Caroline "Carrie" Groth, 94, Lake Charles, La., who formerly lived in Ellsworth, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Grubb-Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, the Rev. Richard Hess officiating. Burial will be in the Ellsworth Cemetery. Mrs. Groth died Friday at Lake Charles. She was born July 19,1893 (SHOULD BE 1883), in Marietta, O., and, as a child, came to Ellsworth with her parents. Following the death of her husband, William, in 1940, she left Ellsworth and had lived in Lake Charles for a number of years. Mrs Groth was a telephone operator and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors are two granddaughters, Pamela Jo and Cheryl Ann Beightel, El Paso, Tex. Friends may call at the funeral home. Family links: Parents: August Smith (1846 - 1915) Huldah L.
