Birth: Aug. 22, 1867, Russian Federation Death: Feb. 28, 1927 Willow City Bottineau County North Dakota, USA John and his first wife, Karolina Strayle, came to the United States from Russia in 1874. Karolina died in childbirth with their ninth child in 1886 when she was 41 years old. She is buried near a creek in the Dakota Territories where they were living at the time. John married Fredricka Reiner 14 Jan 1890 in McPherson County, South Dakota, she was also of German descent from Russia, in 1887. They moved to the Omemee area in 1896. John and Fredricka had 14 more children.
