ASHLAND -- Frank Ricer Jr., 74, died Saturday, May 1, 2004, after a long illness.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Heyl Funeral Home, 227 Broad Street, Ashland, with the Rev. John McCourt officiating. Burial will follow at Nankin Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Ricer family.
SHLAND -- Frank Ricer Jr., 74, died Saturday, May 1, 2004, after a long illness.
Born on Feb. 15, 1930 in Woodsfield, Ohio, the son of James Franklin and Carol Briggs Ricer, he was an Ashland resident most of his life. Frank was co-owner of Ricer's Dog Supply, formerly worked for U-Brand Corporation, and was a tree surgeon with Ricer and Cline Tree Service.
Surviving are his wife, Norma Simmons, whom he married Aug. 17, 1974; his father, Frank of Ashland; son and daughter-in- law, Eric and Cheryl Ricer of Mansfield; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Fred Jessop of Mansfield; son, Gary Bettac of Mansfield. Other survivors include stepsons and daughter-in-law, Jim and Janet Graffice, and Michael Graffice, all of Ashland; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Lorrie and Jim Myers of Lucas; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Rosemary Ricer of Ashland, Eileen (Eugene) Cline of Graysville, Dorothy (Herb) Porter of Wayne, W.Va.; brothers, James (Carolyn) Ricer of Ashland and Dean Cline of Ashland; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Ricer; granddaughter, Cheri Jessop; sister, Donna Cline; stepson, Gary Graffice.
Mr. Ricer was an avid coon hunter and outdoorsman, a member of Ashland and Jeromesville Coon Hunters Clubs, and attended Trinity Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at Heyl Funeral Home, conducted by Pastor John McCourt. Burial will follow at Nankin Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, May 4, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
