Kathleen (Murtha) Friederich, 50
September 6, 1959 - June 24, 2010
Funeral services for Kathleen Friederich were held Saturday, June 26, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Koehn Bros. Funeral Home, Parkston, in charge of arrangements.
Kathleen Anne Friederich was born September 6, 1959, to William and Betty (Stoebner) Murtha in Parkston. She grew up in Parkston, attended Sacred Heart Parochial School and later Parkston High School. After graduating from PHS in 1977, she began working for Neumayr Grocery in Parkston.
She was united in marriage to Tim Friederich April 22, 1978, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. She began working as a cook for the Good Samaritan Center in Parkston and later became the Dietary Manager of the Good Samaritan Society, Tripp. After moving to Sioux Falls, she began working for Sanford Hospital as a Patient Family Advocate.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she taught CCD and was on the church council.
She died Thursday, June 24, at the Sanford Centennial Hospice Cottage in Sioux Falls at the age of 50 years.
She is survived by her husband, Tim, Sioux Falls; father, William Murtha, Parkston; three children, Brandi Brintnall and husband, Eric, Brookings, Brooks Friederich, Denver, Colo., and Brittany Friederich, Brookings; grandchild, Rylee Brintnall; 10 siblings, Mary Murtha, Sturgis, Lee Murtha and wife, Pam, Bridgewater, Jean Schmidt and husband, Myron, St. Helena, Neb., Kevin Murtha and wife, Becky, Dimock, Kerry Murtha and wife, Marcia, Parkston, Louis Murtha and wife, Alice, Mitchell, Lynn Murtha, Emery, Glenn Murtha and wife, DeeDee, Mitchell, David Murtha, Sturgis, and Lyle Murtha, Casper, Wyo., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, and a brother, Joel.
