ARCHER, Byron Franklin, Sr., 94, formerly of Wheeling, W.Va., died Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at the home of his daughter in Severn, Md. 
 
He was born in Washington County, Pa., January 18, 1914, son of the late John Lynn and Mary Ethel Sampson Archer. 
 
Mr. Archer was a retired truck driver for Warwood Transfer; was a WWII U.S. Army veteran; and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling. 
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Mary Archer; a son, Byron Franklin Archer, Jr.; a brother, Russell Archer; and a sister, Mary Ellen Quinn. 
 
Surviving are four daughters, Mary Ann Mathieu and her husband, Larry, of Horseheads, N.Y., Nancy Crow of Wheeling, and the late Roger Crow, Sandra Eloise Kaub of Severn, Md., and Andrea Sue Burnazzi and her husband, Arthur, of Greenock, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Archer of Wheeling; 14 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; and a sister, Esther Archer of Wheeling. 
 
Friends will be received from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2008 at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2008, with Fr. Jim LaCrosse S.M. officiating. 
 
Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
