MRS. W. A. ARNOLD DIES AT CALDWELL 
CALDWELL - Mrs. Mary Ehlerman Arnold, 73, widow 
of William A. Arnold, died Monday morning [24 May 1948] at 6:30 
in her home on North street, Caldwell, following a heart attack. 
Mrs. Arnold, who lived alone, called a neighbor after she was 
stricken and asked her to summon Dr. N. S. Reed. Mrs. Arnold died 
shortly after the physician?s arrival. 
She was born at Fulda, near Caldwell, the daughter of G. S. 
and Eva Hohman Ehlerman. She was an active life-long member of St. 
Philomena Catholic church in Caldwell. Her husband, a Caldwell 
business man, died several years ago. 
Mrs. Arnold is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Agnes Lyons 
of Chicago, Ill.; five sons, William of Akron; Frederick of Tucson, Ariz.; 
Paul of Cleveland; Hubert of Evansville, Ind.; Bernard of Los Angeles; a 
sister, Miss Cecelia Ehlerman of Caldwell; four brothers, Terrence M. 
Ehlerman of Caldwell, Julius Ehlerman of Dayton, William Ehlerman of 
Sioux City, Iowa and Adolph Ehlerman of Newark. One son preceded 
her in death. 
The body will be removed to the residence today from the 
Estadt funeral home in Caldwell. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, 
pending the arrival of the children.
