I have attached the obituary for Freda Kirsch Smith - thought you might be
interested.
My ancestry line:
I am the son of Charles William Kirsch.
He was the son of Herman William Kirsch and Kathryn Milhoan.
My father, Charles William Kirsch, was born on December 23, 1925 and died
September 22, 2003. He was born near the bottom of the Somerton Cemetery
hill, where Freda and Phillip/Lucetta Kirsch are buried. He is buried in
Hathaway Cemetery, just outside of West Mansfield, Ohio (Logan County). He
married Joan Prince (still living) on November 18, 1950. My full name is
Charles Randall Kirsch, but I go by Randy.

Description: Dear Ursula,
Dad was born just outside of Somerton, Ohio (Belmont County) not Carroll township, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
Also, Dad lived in Grove City, Ohio but actually died in a nursing home in Columbus, Ohio.
Note:
Herman, his father, moved the family to Carroll township, Washington County, Pennsylvania when dad was young.
The familiy appears on the 1930 census there.
Kathryn Milhoan and Herman William Kirsch moved between Ohio and Pennsylvania several times.
They even moved from Pennsylvania to Woodsfield, Ohio when Dad was in the service (in Europe) during World War II.
After Dad got married, Kathyrn and Herman Kirsch moved back to Pennsylvania for the last time.

CHARLES W. KIRSCH
Charles W. Kirsch, 77, of Grove City died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003.
A graduate of Marietta College and the Ohio State University, he served
as an Army combat engineer in Europe during World War II. He started his
career in education as a teacher and coach in the Bokescreek Local
School District in Logan County in 1951. He was superintendent of the
Buckeye Local School District and transferred to the Ohio Department of
Education, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the West Mansfield
United Methodist Church, the VFW, the West Mansfield American Legion and
the Woodsfield Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Joan, and a son, Charles
Randall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the
Mannasmith-Schurrenberger Funeral Home in West Mansfield. The Rev.
Michael Messick will officiate and burial will be at the Hathaway
Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the West Mansfield United
Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
