ohn Howard Potts Jr died early Thurs A.M. 24 May 2007 in N.O., La.
Son of John Howard & Helen Fabacher Potts Sr.
Benign brain tumor removed about four weeks ago. Never regained
consciousness after surgery. Was making some progress this last week
but died unexpectedly. Autopsy will delay funeral, expected to be
sometime next week.

A retired printer with Jolly Printing Co., New Orleans, and former employee of Franklin Press, Baton Rouge, he died at 3 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Ochsner Medical Center, New Orleans. He was 76, a resident of Metairie and a native of Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Visiting at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Metairie, on Thursday, May 31, from 10 a.m. until Mass at noon, with the Rev. Frank Candalisa, celebrant. Entombment in Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans. Survived by his wife, Jacqueline Wilson Potts; daughter, Catherine Helen Potts Johnson; son-in-law, Royce C. Johnson Jr.; son, John Howard Potts III; five sisters, M. Josephine Potts Meyer, M. Elizabeth Potts Kelley, Mary Helen Potts Jones, K. Lynette Potts and Ursula A. Potts Johnson; three grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Johnson, R. Carl Johnson III and Carol Ann Johnson. Preceded in death by his parents, Helen Fabacher and J. Howard Potts Sr.; and sister, Ellen Petrea Potts. Pallbearers will be John Howard Potts III, George Bent, George R. Rauch Jr., R. Carl Johnson III, Edward Wilson and Mario Marillo. He was a graduate of Catholic High School, Baton Rouge, and a member of AA with 48 years of sobriety. He served as a Eucharistic minister at St. Christopher Church and annually attended a retreat at Manresa in Convent. Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, New Orleans, is in charge of arrangements.
