He was 82 years old. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he has been a resident of Old Bridge for 45 years. Franklin was a draftsman working for Treadwell Corporation in New York City for over 25 years. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church in Old Bridge. Franklin enjoyed reading and musicals. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Rose Ann (O'Brien) Ickstadt, two daughters, Mary Latham of Easthampton, NJ and Karen Doherty and her husband John of Freehold, NJ and a son, Mark Ickstadt of Old Bridge, NJ. Also survived by a sister, Madeline Bruhn of Middletown, NJ, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown, Thursday evening 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be offered Friday 10:15 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Old Bridge.
