Edward G. Loeffel
Ret. Electroplater, 85
Edward G. Loeffel of Pleasant Valley, a retired electroplater for IBM in Poughkeepsie, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 85 years of age.
The son of the late Henry G. and Madeline Leslie Loeffel, he was born June 17, 1917, in Jersey City, N.J.
Mr. Loeffel worked at Dupont Remington Arms Co. in Bridgeport, Conn., and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving with the Seabees during World War II.
He had his own electroplating business in Liberty before moving to Poughkeepsie in 1951.
Mr. Loeffel was a member of the Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Kinne Loeffel, at home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara and Jack Zeagler of Suffolk, Va., and Patricia Grady of Hyde Park; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Elizabeth Loeffel of Stony Brook, L.I.; a brother, Norman Loeffel of the State of Florida and Kenoza Lake; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a niece, Leslie.
Services were held at the Allen Funeral Home in Pleasant Valley.
Burial was made in the LaGrange Rural Cemetery.
