(Wegman) McCabe, 93, of Old Forge and formerly of Irondequoit, NY and Naples, FL, died Thursday, December 3, 2009. Mrs. McCabe is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Thomas B. McCabe, Sr. She is survived by two sons, Daniel of Lexington, MA and Thomas and his wife Margaret (Carey) of Plymouth, MA and Old Forge and three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Dolores Voellinger and two brothers, Linus and George Wegman and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Eugene. Mrs. McCabe was a wonderful homemaker, avid golfer and spent summers on Fourth Lake, where in 1968 she and her husband founded the Fulton Chain of Lakes Association which to this day still protects the lakes and environment. She will always be remembered as fun-loving and for her love of family, her Church as a member of the Rosary Society, her country and the outdoors. The funeral will be Monday at 11 AM at St. Bartholemew?s Catholic Church in Old Forge. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3-7 at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 128 Fern Ave, Old Forge. A graveside service will take place Tuesday at 12 noon at the Irondequoit Cemetery, Irondequoit, NY.
