Catherine Claus Mann was born February 20, 1884, at Miltonsburg, Ohio,the oldest daughter of Adolph and Elizabeth Fleihman Claus, anddeparted this life at her home in Jerusalem on January 23, 1951, atthe age of 66 years, eleven months and three days. She was married toGeorge A. Mann on December 17, 1903, and he preceded her in death onFebruary 2, 1945. To this union five children were born, twodaughters and three sons; Mrs. Viola Riley, of Beallsville, and Mrs.Bernice Gibbons, of Massillon; Rolland, of Canton; Royden Mann, ofSmithville, and Floyd, who died in infancy. Also ten grandchildren andsix great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lusetta Mann, ofMiltonsburg, and three brothers, John and Will Claus, of Woodsfield,and Oscar Claus, of Jerusalem survive. Mrs. Mann was an active memberof the Jerusalem W. C. T. U. In early life she united with theEvangelical and Reformed church at Miltonsburg. After moving toJerusalem, she transferred her membership to the Presbyterian Churchof that village. She was a loving wife and mother and devoted to thewelfare of her family. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoonin the Presbyterian Church in Jerusalem cemetery. Those attending thefuneral a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Gibbons and family, ofMassillon; Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Mann and family, of Canton; Mr. andMrs. Royden Mann and son, of Smithville; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Riley,and Oscar Kress, of Cleveland; Mr. and Mrs. George Reich, Mr. and Mrs.Will Reich, Mrs. Harry Straight, Mrs. H. H. Dougherty, Mrs. FredWilliams, Mr. and Mrs. Denzil Eaton and Carol Ann, Mrs. BernardSchumacher and Mrs. Margaret Kress, of Woodsfield; Dora Claus, Mrs.L.E. Christman and Jimmie Christman, of Lewisville, Rt.; Mrs. JamesHoltsclaw and Mrs. Gertrude Alleman of Benwood.
