  Your great-grandmother was Dorothy E. (Ewing) Feyock and she was called " Dot" by her friends but "Nana" by us grandkids. As far as I know she was a stay-at-home wife and mother her whole life. She was the disciplinarian of the family and kept a very neat home. She always appeared to be prim and proper but I was astounded after she died to find that she would always sneak into the bathroom when we visited to have a cigarette. She was a Protestant but since "Grampi" was Catholic she acquiesced to having their children raised in the Catholic Church. Even at that we sometimes went to the Protestant church with her. Back then it was a big thing and everyone had to get dressed up. All the women, including Nana, had their fox stoles and box hats with mesh that exended over their eyes. Prior to her death she fell off the front stoop of their house and broke her hip. Apparently she had gone out to get the mail and when she opened the screen door a gust of wind blew the door open knocking her off balance. At the time she probably weighed less than 100 pounds. She never came out of the hospital and died about two months later.
