She had also worked for Hunckler Products, Huntington, and was a homemaker. She was a former member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Huntington County Right to Life. She was born July 18, 1910, in Huntington, to Joseph and Mary Holzinger Hergenroether. Her marriage was Feb. 24, 1940 to Willard A. Smith. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Marilyn) Doyle, Muncie; two sons, Donald Smith, Wausau, Wis., and Michael Smith, Olympia, Wash., six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Lucile Christine ?Tina? Kohrman, Fort Wayne; and a brother, William Hergenroether, Sugar Grove, Ill. Seven brothers and seven sisters are deceased. He was a mail carrier retiring from the U.S. Postal Service Jan. 11, 1980 after working 42 years. He was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, and St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Naples, Fla. He was a veteran of World War II. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus, Disabled American Veterans of Indiana, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and National Association of Letter Carriers. Mr. Karst was born July 15, 1915 in Huntington to George A. and Edith T. Scher Karst. On Sept. 29, 1951, he married Margaret M. Larkin, who died Dec. 5, 1967. On May 16, 1970 in Louisville, Ky., he married Frieda M. Owens, who survives in Huntington. Survivors also include three sons, James P. Karst and Terrence F. Karst, both of Huntington, and Patrick A. Karst of le; two daughters, Kathleen A. Karst of Huntington and Diane M. Karst of Fort Wayne; a brother, Delbert P. Karst of Ft. Jennings, 86, a former resident of 759 Polk St., died Sunday (Sept. 16, 2001) at the Norwood Nursing Center. Mrs. Jennings was a seamstress by trade and was also a local artist. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Sodality and Gollner Guild for Life. She was also a member of the Art Guild and Moose Lodge. She was born July 1, 1915, in Huntington County, to Andrew J. and Theresa Miller Stoltz. She married Howard R. Jennings in Huntington on Sept. 8, 1938. Her husband died Sept. 14, 1987. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. John (Rosalyn) Hill, Huntington; four sons, Ronald Jennings, New Haven, Douglas Jennings, Crystal Lake, Ill., Kenneth Jennings, Syracuse, and Rick Jennings, Huntington; a brother, Andrew Stoltz, Huntington; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters and a grandchild. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hart Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 840 Cherry St., with Father Ron Rieder and Father Robert Fosselman officiating. Burial will be at the Mt.
