She said he was buried at Margraten and that he was a 2nd lieuteant in the 506th Parachute
regiment 101st airborne. His grave says he was from Pennsylvania.

She felt drawn to his grave because he died the day her town (Son) was liberated during Operation Market Garden. I told her that was because he was killed in her hometown. They were trying to capture a bridge before the Germans could blow it up.

There is a lot of information available including a book called Band of Brothers by Stephen Ambrose about one of the companies in the 506th.

In Saving Private Ryan, when they meet Ryan he says "I'm Ryan of the 506."

My father, Thomas J. Seibel was born 9/22/20 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Before he entered the 101st Air Corp on March 3, 1943, I believe he was a woodworker. He married my mother on March 11, 1943. "Tommy" was MIA on September 17, 1944 in an invasion over Bladel,Holland.

"Operation Garden Market" a wild scheme to put an early end to the Second World War,encountered bad luck and bad weather. The movie "A Bridge Too Far" tells the story.

SEIBEL DEBORAH ANN
Of Cranberry, age 49, in the early morning hours of Friday, January 30, 2009, Deborah's long and courageous battle came to a peaceful end while surrounded by many loved ones. Debbie is survived by her beloved and most caring husband Joseph C. Seibel; she was an extremely loving mother to her children, Gary M. (Corrie) Klobchar, Jr., David W. (Jessica) and her precious daughter, Melissa (Klobchar) Boeh; she loved being the nana to her three grandchildren, Gary Michael, Alex and Madelynn; beloved daughter of Marge Williams and Tom Williams; beloved niece of William Murtaugh; beloved daughter-in-law of Joseph "Skip" and Arlene Seibel; beloved sister of Kimberly Cummings; sister-in-law of Jim Cummings, Ronald and Susan Frank, John and Lynne Baker and Jeffrey Seibel; and was aunt to several nieces and nephews. Her journey took her to many places and her life brought inspiration to all of those she met. She will be missed dearly by all of her family and friends. We love you Debbie. I am interested in any information on my great grandpartents Gustav J. Seibel and Anna (Annie) who immigrated to the US in 1880 from Germany. They located in Philadelphia, PA. They had seven children. My grandparents moved to the Los Angeles area where they lived and died. Last contact was from my dad's Aunt Ida (Benedict) from Montebello, CA in 1962 when my great grandmother died. Any information would be very much appreciated. Carrie M. in VA.
