Vernon and Luella moved to Michigan in 1928 when their first son, Howa
rd Trapp, was about six months old.
When Vernon and Luella first got married Vernon was making about $18.0

Luella didn't know that Vernon's real last name was Trapp until about
a week before they got married. Vernon had been using his Stepfather'
s name (Goodrich).
