In 1860, Morris Swick (19) lived on his parents' farm in Franklin Twp., Monroe Co., OH. . His occupation was carpenter.

Alternate Marriage date - 31 Jan 1861 by Jean Hanna Brenick

Some researchers show Marx and Morris as two separate children of Michael Zwick. However, in the 1870 census, the man named Morris Swick has children identical to those of Marx Zwick . It is therefore assumed that these two men are one and the same.

MArx may have been named for his maternal grandfather.

Some researchers indicate that the first child of Marx and Mary Ann (Hohman) Zwick was a daughter named Frances (1864-1944) who married Henry Smithberger. Existence of this child is questionable. No record of her birth is found at St. Mary's in Fulda, Noble County, where the couple lived for the first five years of their marriage. Frances Zwick is not listed with her parents and siblings in the 1870 or 1880 census. She is also not listed as a surviving chi ld in her father's death notice (1925). A surviving sibling named "Mrs. Frances Smithberger of Monroe county" is named in Martin Zwick's 1914 death notice, but this is believed to b e a typographical error for what should be "Mrs. Francis Smithberger." (Anna Zwick married Francis Smithberger.)

    Notes for Mary Ann Hohman:
Dolores Snider, in "St. Mary's -- 150 Years -- Fulda Ohio" states that Mary Ann Hohman was baptized in St. Mary's Church. However, the church did not exist prior to 1847. Prior to that , Fulda, Ohio was a mission of Temperanceville and later Miltonsburg, Ohio

In 1850, 17 year old Mary Ann Hohman lived and worked on her parents farm in Enoch Twp., Noble County Ohio. She did not attend school duruing the previous year. The 1870 census state s that she could not read or write.

Records conflict on year of birth:
    1) Death record says she was 43 years of age 1 month 9 days. (Birthdate calculated from thi s date.)
    2) According to Delores Snider (pg 100), church records indicate only year of birth -- 1843- - and that she was christened there.
    3) Delores Snider (pg 255), gives 20 Apr 1844

Margaret Ann and Mary Ann Hohman (sisters) married brothers Martin and Marx Zwick.

Markus married Mary Ann Hohman on 25 May 1863 in Ohio, USA. Mary (daughter of Joseph Michael Hohmann Hohman and Anna Barbara Heil) was born on 20 Apr 1844 in Bethel Township, Monroe County, Ohio, USA; died on 12 May 1887 in Bethel Township, Monroe County, Ohio, USA.
