Ruth Dahm
Ruth J. Dahm, nee Grosspitch, 97, of Belleville, Ill., born on March 27, 1920, in Belleville, Ill., passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 at her residence.
Ruth was a homemaker, a great cook and an excellent seamstress. She and her husband of 50 years enjoyed rep-vamping and redecorating a number of homes in Belleville and in various Florida areas after his retirement from the plumbing business. She greatly enjoyed working in her yard until degenerative back issues forced her to stop. She loved and was an accomplished painter/artist until she lost her vision. Even with these obstacles in life she remained an upbeat, positive and fun loving person.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A.G. "Bud" Dahm; and her parents, Joseph and Josephine, nee Egner, Grosspitch.
Surviving are her four children, Michael E. Dahm of Raymore, Mo.; twins, Jeanette E. (David) Schmitz of Dayton, Ohio and Joseph G. (Ann) Dahm of Port Townsend, Wash., and her youngest daughter, Carolyn A. Dahm of Belleville, Ill. Ruth has two grandchildren from Michael and his late wife Judy, Michael C. Dahm (Noelle) and Scott E. (Lisa) Dahm. She has three grandchildren from Jeanette and David, Lara A. (Tom) Schmitz-Nelson, Andria E. Shaman and Matthew D. (Rebecca) Schmitz. Between the grandchildren Ruth has 13 great-grandchildren.
A final thanks to Family Hospice of Belleville. For the short period of time they were needed everyone there was very thoughtful and helpful in her last days.
Services: As she requested and insisted upon, there will be no service.
