A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 7, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery. Nettie was born Nov. 24, 1912, in Morton County south of Mandan, to James and Mary (Mrnak) Cermak. She graduated from Mandan High School in 1929, and married Jack C. Zent on May 6 of that year. She attended NDSU for two years. Nettie was an accomplished seamstress, who worked at Royal Cleaners from 1926 to 1936, Toman Cleaners from 1942 to 1969, and operated a drapery sewing business from 1969 until her retirement. She was a member of Catholic Daughters, Sokol Club (Bohemian gymnastics club) Travelers Club, and also played the violin. She is survived by one daughter, Marian Johnson, Bismarck; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Carla Zent; six grandchildren, Scott (Becky) Johnson, Jamie (Wanda) Johnson, Mary Lou, Marsha, Peggie and James Zent; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Nettie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Zent; her son, Rodger; three sisters, Nancy Shimek, Carolyn Vojtisek and Mary Fink; two brothers, Ernest and Wenzel Cermak; and son-in-law, Richard C. Johnson.
