GRIDLEY Esther I. Kaupp, 91, Gridley, passed away at 6 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 29, 2009) at the Apostolic Christian Home, Eureka, where she was a resident.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Gridley Apostolic Christian Church. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, El Paso, and from noon to 12:45 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be in Gridley Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gridley Apostolic Christian Church or Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka.
She was born Oct. 26, 1918, in Gridley, a daughter of Joseph and Ida Wenger Rinkenberger. She married Walter Kaupp on Sept. 5, 1937, in Bloomington. He passed away June 28, 1989.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin (Annette) Kaupp and John (Wava) Kaupp, both of Gridley; two daughters, Evelyn (Ray) Wright, Susanville, Calif., and Carolyn (John) Yoder, Gridley; four sisters, Ruth Lowery and Dorothy Harsh, both of Bloomington; Verna Harsh, Florida; and Eleanore King, Pewaukee, Wis.; two brothers, Raymond Rinkenberger, Mackinaw, and David Rinkenberger, Elgin; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Harold; three grandchildren, Tami Lyn, Todd and Tammy; three brothers, Melvin, Orville and Lynn; and two sisters, Violet and Marie.
Esther was a homemaker who farmed alongside her husband all of her life. She was a member of the Gridley Apostolic Christian Church.
