William L. Milstead, 75, of Macksburg, died Saturday (June 22, 1991) at Selby General Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 8, 1916, in Bellaire, son of Leota Milstead Nutter of Nashport and the late Jasper Milstead. He retired with 29 years service from Gould Inc., Caldwell, and was a chief warrant officer in the U.S. Navy in World War II.
Mr. Milstead was a member of Aurelius Lodge 60 F & AM, Macksburg; American Legion 418 of Dexter City; Moose Lodge 1823 of Marietta; and Eagles Lodge 3665 of Beverly.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Milstead leaves his wife, Ruth Schneeburger Milstead, whom he married Aug. 9, 1959; one daughter, Mrs. Patrick (Jana Louise) Bing of Marietta; two sons, William L. Milstead, Jr. of Williamstown, W.Va. and Randy Lee Milstead of Dexter City; three sisters, Mary Province of Cambridge; Ruth McConkey of Byesville; Florence Dobbins of Nashport; and two grandchildren, Alina Marie Milstead and Levi Michael Milstead.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at McVay - Perkins Funeral Home where services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Bill Pickenpaugh officiating.
Masonic services will be observed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Eagles services is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Caldwell Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lund Cemetery, Macksburg.
