Bio: HASTELL, Harold "Justin" age 86 passed away March 6, 2011 at St. Leonard Retirement Center.
He is preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Rose; granddaughter, Corissa Shaw; and sister, Marilyn Hetzel. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Evelyn Conter; children, Cyndi (Don) Shaw, Bruce Hastell, David Hastell, and Diane Hastell; sister, Susan Fritz; grandchildren, Teresa, Renee, Justin, Eli, and Anna; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. He served in the United States Navy during WWII in the South Pacific on the USS Sargent Bay Aircraft Carrier and retired from Wright Patterson Air Force base after many years of service. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus and the VFW. He was also a life long member of Ascension Catholic Church and gave many years of volunteer work.
The family will receive friends at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial at Ascension Catholic Church, 2025 Woodman Dr. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Hospice of Dayton.
