July 6, 1923 -Aug. 17, 2010 LAKE BENTON - Services for Thurman Carl Kindelberger, 87, of Lake Benton, formerly of Porter, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Porter. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. today at Birk Funeral Home in Canby; there will be no viewing. Burial will be in Wergeland Cemetery, Porter. He died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at Tyler Healthcare Center in Tyler. He was born July 6, 1923, to George and Thilda (Nomeland) Kindelberger at home in Alta Vista Township, Lincoln County, near Porter. He served in the South Pacific during WWII. Survivors include his wife Betty of Lake Benton; children Keith of Ortonville, Julie Van Hyfte of Porter and Twyla Gordon of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother Corwin of Montevideo.
