Wetzstein, 80, longtime resident of West Fargo, ND, died on Sat., Dec. 31, 2011 in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Fargo. Mr. Wetzstein was born on May 22, 1931 in Carrington, ND, to Stephen and Rose (Berger) Wetzstein. He grew up and graduated from Carrington High School. Steve enlisted in the US Navy and served on the USS Leyte during the Korean war. After his discharge, Steve returned to ND and lived in Fargo, where he worked for Western Electric. He married Irene Kettwig in Devils Lake, ND. He retired from Western Electric after over 30 years of service to the company. He was a life member of the West Fargo VFW Post #7564 and was very active in his church, Holy Cross. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leo and sister, Theresa Blinsky.
