Simon Anton Burkhart (May 3, 1891 - September 15, 1963) Simon Anton Burkhart, 72, passed away in Kalispell, Tuesday. He was born May 3, 1891 in Ohio. Mr. Burkhart was a veteran of WW I and following his discharge from the service, came to the Flathead Valley and had since made his home here. He had been employed by the Forestry Department for many years before retiring. He was a member of World War Barracks of Kalispell 362 and of the VFW Post 2252. Mr. Burkhart is survived by his wife, Elna Burkhart at the family home at 317 8th Avenue West in Kalispell; two stepchildren, Mrs. Robert Nelson of ElCajon, California and Marion Murer of Creston; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, and three sisters living in Ohio. He was preceded in death of a brother, Jack Burkhart of the Mountain Brook community. Funeral services for Mr. Burkhart will be announced later by the Waggener & Campbell Funeral Home.
