Ruth Bollinger, 88 went home to be with her Lord on February 4, 2008 at Elim Care Center in Fargo, ND. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Elim Care Center with visitation one hour prior to service. Private burial will be at Artas City Cemetery, Artas, SD.
Ruth Bollinger was born in Artas, South Dakota to Jake and Martha Kost. She grew up residing with her grandparents Jake and Katherine Berreth. She attended school and graduated from Herreid High in Herreid, SD. She then was employed at Mound City, SD until her marriage to Albert Bollinger in 1939. They resided in Zealand, ND most of their life, Albert passed away in 1979.
Ruth is survived by: Carole Fettig of Steele, ND, Dennis (Carol) Bollinger of West Fargo, ND, Gary (Sharon) Bollinger of Cold Spring, MN, and our half- sister Lois (Vic) Baumgartner of Braddock, ND; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gladys Braun, Maxine Vojta, Ruby Hanson; four brothers, Archie, Karl, Jim and Dale Mitzel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; one sister, Violet Rossow, and one brother, Alex Mitzel; son-in-law, Harvey Fettig; daughter-in-law, Mary Bollinger; three great-grandchildren.

Ruth Bollinger, 88, of Fargo and formerly of Zeeland, ND died February 4, 2008 at Elim Care Center at Fargo.
Ruth Kost, daughter of Jake and Martha Kost was born at Artas, SD. She grew up residing with her grandparents, Jake and Katherine Berreth. She attended school and graduated from Herreid High School in Herreid, SD. She then was employed at Mound City, SD.
She was united in marriage to Albert Bollinger in 1939. They lived in Zeeland most of their life. Her husband died in 1979.
Survivors include one daughter, Carole Fettig of Steele, ND, two sons, Dennis (Carol) Bollinger of West Fargo and Gary (Sharon) Bollinger of Cold Spring, Minnesota, one half-sister, Lois (Vic) Baumgartner of Braddock, ND, three sisters, Gladys Braun, Maxine Vojta and Ruby Hanson, four brothers, Archie Mitzel, Karl Mitzel, Jim Mitzel and Dale Mitzel, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband, one sister, Violet Rossow, one brother, Alex Mitzel, one son-in-law, Harvey Fettig, one daughter-in-law, Mary Bollinger and three great-grandchildren preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 8, 2008 at Elim Care Center at Fargo.
Private burial will be at Artas City Cemetery at Artas, SD.
Carlsen Funeral Home of Ashley has been entrusted with arrangements.
