STEPHENS, 87, of Albion, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. He was a Captain in the U.S. Navy for 30 years and lived in Albion since 1972. He married Kathleen O'Gorman on April 14,1943; she died on Sept. 9, 2006. A 30 year veteran of the U.S. Navy, he had obtained the rank of Captain. He had graduated from Zigler IL Community High School, obtained his BA from Southern Illinois Normal University, and his Masters degree in the Navy, US Post Graduate School Aeronautical Engineering, in 1952. He was an active member of Albion Rotary, and a Paul Harris Fellow. Surviving are her children, Larry (Barbara) Stephens of Troy, Ohio, Paul (Susan) Stephens and Russel (Theresa) Stephens Jr., both of Fort Wayne, Liza (Robert) Breno of Tarriffville, Conn., and Jill (Larry) Davidson of Highland, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Emma Stephens of Royalton, Ill. Service is 11 a.m. Friday at Brazzell Funeral Home, Albion Chapel. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
