  BIOGRAPHY: This info is from Mom (Chickie Brown) Dad went to the 9th grade. He told her he wanted to play football, but I guess they didn't let 9th graders play then, so he dropped out and got a job at Woodings, at 15 years old. Then at age 16 he joined the Merchant Marines for 2 years. He came back in 1945. That is when he got drafted into the Army for about one and a half years. He came home in 1947. Mom says Dad's baptismal name was Roy Thomas John George Brown. His favorite actor was John Wayne. His very favorite movie was The Quiet Man with John Wayne. He also loved listening to music. His favorite comedian was Danny Kaye. Dad's family was very important to him. He was very close with his mother and mother-in-law. He worked at Edgewater Steel Co. in Oakmont, PA. most of his life and he liked his job. He loved walking in the rain and in the woods and loved to laugh. He was always playing some kind of practical joke on someone. He collected coins for a lot of years. Dad liked to draw. He also loved music. He was always walking around the house singing or humming. His favorites musical groups were the Ink Spots and The Mills Brothers. Dad also enjoyed camping at Keystone State Park.
