He was born in Mason County, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Everett Elliott. Roy was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and retired from Universal Glass with over 40 years of service.He was a member of the Parkersburg Moose Club and he loved fishing, camping and traveling. Surviving is his wife, Martha Iona McHewitt Elliott; three sons, Earl Richard McHewitt and his wife, Cinda, of Huntington, Roy W. Elliott and his wife, Wanda, of Parkersburg and Robert Paul Elliott of the home; three daughters, Charlene Anita Dougherty and husband, Bill, of Whipple, Ohio, Joy PamelaElliott and her son, Timmy, of Parkersburg and Cathy Hart and husband, Rodney,of Pomeroy; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers; and four sisters. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Broad Street, with Pastor Roger Vernick officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg, and one hour prior tothe service Monday at the church.
